We warmly welcome Clean the World to the Circular Plastics Alliance. Weye Hu (Circular Plastics) handed over the tombstone to Manuel Rodriguez (Clean the World).
Clean the World is a global impact company dedicated to eradicating hygiene insecurity and preventing hotel amenities from ending up in landfill. Discarded soap and bottled amenities from 8,100+ partnering hotels are collected by housekeeping staff and sent to Clean the World for recycling and distribution. The bar soap is recycled and distributed around the world to communities that lack access to hygiene necessities. This act has contributed to a significant reduction in hygiene related deaths in children under the age of five.
Since 2009, Clean the World has distributed 72 million bars of soap to 127 countries and diverted over 10 million kilograms of waste from landfill. They have collected and recycled more than 7 million kilograms of bar soap resulting in a carbon footprint reduction of nearly 10 million kgCO2e and a water savings of over 200 million litres.

Clean the World would like to solidify a plastic recycling partnership for their product in Europe and the United Kingdom, be the sole source of hospitality plastic to Circular Plastics and create a more efficient logistics structure. They would like to offer an on ramp to compliance with a plastic management assurance and achieve carbon and plastic credit farming for all Circular Plastics Alliance members and their clients.
Their expectation from a collaboration with Circular Plastics Alliance is to improve their CO2 footprint due to a more efficient logistics structure, including opportunities for reverse logistics. Rather than shipping from hotels to the Clean the World hub in Amsterdam, they will ship directly from hotels to Circular Plastics. They will also improve their CO2 footprint by including their plastics in streams that create circular products.
By adding Clean the World to the Circular Plastics Alliance, we add a leading environmental solution for the hospitality industry. Clean the World has a large presence, increased brand awareness, and exclusive relationships with global hospitality brands. Along with environmental solutions, Clean the World shows ways for companies to engage in socially impactful CSR events. This makes Clean the World a unique and valuable addition to our Alliance.
