Nederlandse baksteenproducenten verenigd in de Koninklijke Nederlandse Bouwkeramiek (KNB) gaan over op het gebruik van circulaire kunststof retourpallets. In samenwerking met Circular Plastics als ketenmanager en palletproducent Cabka is een kunststof retourpallet ontwikkeld. Deze gaat de houten pallets vervangen in het hele logistieke proces, van fabriek tot bouwplaats, inclusief het retourneren en hergebruiken van de pallets.<\/p>\n

In een periode van twee jaar is het ontwerp van de pallet gerealiseerd en zijn er praktische tests uitgevoerd met schaalmodellen van 1:1 in verschillende fabrieken. Momenteel zijn er 4.000 kunststof pallets geproduceerd met een proefmatrijs voor de proeffase. De pallets worden de komende maanden intensief getest in het laboratorium, op de productielijnen van de baksteenproducenten, tijdens het transport naar de klant en op de bouwplaats.<\/p>\n

De volgende baksteenfabrikanten doen nu ervaring op met de eerste productieseries: Caprice Baksteen - B.V. Steenfabriek Huissenswaard, Steenfabriek Engels Helden, Rodruza, Strating Gevelsteenmeesters, Steenfabriek De Rijswaard B.V., Vandersanden en Wienerberger Nederland. Daarnaast worden tijdens de proefleveringen op bouwplaatsen ervaringen opgedaan met het dagelijks gebruik van de pallets. De eerste reacties op de pallet binnen de missie van een afvalvrije bouwplaats zijn zeer positief.<\/p>\n

Alle ervaringen worden tijdens deze testperiode van enkele maanden vastgelegd en vertaald naar mogelijke optimalisaties in het ontwerp. Uiteindelijk kan, op basis van een definitief ontwerp, de productie van de kunststof retourpallets rond medio 2025 van start gaan.
