Korff Dakwerken has joined the Circular Plastics Alliance. The company has a proven track record as an all-round partner in roofing and has been active since 1997. With its slogan “Sustainable thinking, results-driven action,” the Volendam-based family business fits perfectly within the Alliance.
In practice, this means driving electric vehicles, generating its own electricity through solar panels on the company building, and maintaining a clear preference for green roofs that enhance biodiversity and water retention. On the material level, Korff opts for circular roofing membranes from CPA partner IKO and contributes to both the front and back ends of the value chain — from optimizing logistics with PC Roet Transport to collecting and processing cutting and roofing waste via BRN Nederland. This approach aligns with the type of collaboration Korff seeks with partners such as Rooftop Revolution, the Leercirkel NH, and now CPA.
At the same time, Korff critically examines its own plastic and packaging streams, including manufacturer films, plastic bags and big bags, wooden pallets, roll containers, and skips. Cutting waste is already being recycled, and residual streams are separated where possible, but there is still room to make the workshop more sustainable and to use packaging more efficiently.
Korff’s ambitions are clear and measurable: in the short term, more green roofs and circularity within projects; in the longer term, a structural return flow of cutting and roofing waste via BRN Nederland and broader CO₂ reduction through supply chain collaborations. CPA contributes to this through knowledge sharing, designing return logistics, connecting Korff to relevant chain partners, and setting up concrete pilot projects — with particular value for wholesalers and manufacturers of roofing materials.
