Heembouw, een vooraanstaand bedrijf gespecialiseerd in het ontwerpen en bouwen van duurzame en gezonde gebouwen, heeft zich aangesloten bij Circular Plastics Alliance in de strijd tegen plasticvervuiling. Als innovatieve kracht binnen de bouwsector is Heembouw verantwoordelijk voor projecten van concept en ontwerp tot oplevering en onderhoud, met een sterke nadruk op het maken van een positieve impact op het milieu.

Heembouw’s sustainability vision aligns with this commitment. “We are aware of the impact of our actions on the planet and are genuinely driven to do better.” For example, through the use of circular and biobased materials. Buildings play a crucial role in contemporary environmental issues, and Heembouw understands that sustainability is not only about reusable materials but also about minimizing the CO2 footprint both during construction and later in the use of these buildings.

Sustainability is deeply ingrained in Heembouw’s DNA, manifesting in their material choices, the use of (electric) equipment, and their consideration of the overall life cycle of a building. They have already implemented numerous green initiatives, such as reducing emissions on construction sites, promoting nature-inclusive design and construction, and separating construction waste since 2010, with up to 90% being reused as raw materials for new products.

Bovendien werken ze nu samen met Circular Plastics Alliance om het gebruik van plastic voor eenmalig gebruik verder terug te dringen. Ze richten zich op het vervangen van wegwerpverpakkingen en het nauwkeurig documenteren van hun huidige plasticgebruik.

Met Heembouw als partner binnen Circular Plastics Alliance kunnen alle leden profiteren van hun uitgebreide kennis op het gebied van duurzaam ontwerpen en bouwen. Heembouw draagt waardevolle ervaringen bij aan de transitie naar een circulaire bouwsector en is daarmee een essentiële en unieke toevoeging aan onze Alliantie.
